Antique puja thali dish

Antique brass puja thali (or prayer plate).

In Hindu culture a puja thali is a round or oval dish that is used to accumulate the offerings which will be used during the blessing ceremony. 

These pieces are made from hand-beaten brass, with a warm golden outer, and aged zinc inner. Several have the previous owners name dot-engraved in Hindi along the base. 

Wonderfully repurposed as a serving plate or a display tray for candles, shells etc
